About This Blog.

I'm the kind of girl who bakes when she's upset. I get weak in the knees for a man in a sultry dinner jacket. I'm obsessed with menswear. I love art. I love photography. I love style. I can't tell you one designer from another, but I can tell you what I like when I see it. I'm a music whore. I like far too many songs, and far too many bands. (Feel free to give me new artists to obsess over) I dream of extensive travels. I'm about 70% ambition and 30% sarcasm. I like to think I'm a New Yorker that was born on the wrong coast, but I am such a California girl. I have a deep appreciation for anything tall, dark, and handsome. I love old movies more than is healthy, and I like to document my heart's desires. That's basically what this blog is. You never know where life will take you, but it sure is an adventure.

Oh, the 80s.

Ok, judge me if you will for this post, but just listen to this song while you read.
Basically, I wish I was born in the 70s, so I could have enjoyed the 80s. I'm well aware the hair and fashion were a little crazy...but I just friggin' love 80s stuff.

I would sell half my liver to have had John Hughes direct my life.

I am so ecstatic to have found Blood Orange to listen to, because if I close my eyes, for a few minutes I feel like I am Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles seeing Jake Ryan waiting for me outside the church. Or in Pretty and Pink seeing Blaine at the prom, and calling him on his crap only to have him ditch the richies to be with me. But most of all...I want to be Molly in The Breakfast Club. UGH. So my favorite 80s movie. John Bender will forever be my favorite movie "bad boy." He's perfect.

I've been in the mood to watch an 80s movie for like a few months now. Actually, I always want to watch 80s movies, I won't lie. There's something about Say Anything, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, and all the other 80s movies that were made about teenagers. Like I said, I wish John Hughes could've directed my life. It would be so legit. Or anything involving Patrick Swayze, like Roadhouse or Dirty Dancing or Ghost. That man is so dang attractive. Fetch.
Stone. Cold. Fox.

80s music also has a place in my heart. I love me some Madonna, Billy Idol, all the songs from the movies, and pretty much all the rest of them too.
The woman pretty much ruled the world.

I even love some (lots of) 80s fashion.

I've been told I have good hair for 80s hairstyles. Not that I've tried them or anything.

CLEARLY, I was born in the wrong generation.

Contrary to popular belief, my nickname Ducky is not from this movie, but I don't mind the association.

I just want to be Molly Ringwald in the 80s. Is that too much to ask for?! I think not.

Everybody love everybody,
M.D.

P.S. Just found out I can watch The Breakfast Club on Hulu. My life is complete.
